About Us
Brandon and Cristina Starr are a husband and wife duo whose current goals are to support deaf and hard of hearing literacy by designing fun and engaging books specifically for young emerging readers. By focusing on topics specifically about Deaf History, Deaf Culture, and the Deaf community, they hope to provide exposure for all children about the different narratives out there in the world, as well as instill a sense of self-efficacy into the minds and hearts of deaf and hard of hearing children. Brandon has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from California State University, Fullerton and has been working professionally as an artist since 2002. Cristina is a recent graduate of California State University, Northridge and has a Bachelor of Arts in Deaf Studies with an emphasis in Pre-Deaf Education and a minor in Child Development. They live in Orange County, California and have been happily married for 16 years. It has always been a mutual dream of theirs to work together creatively and they are very excited to finally have the opportunity to collaborate together, especially when the end result is impactful towards the positive growth and development of children.
